Botswana Softball Association was established in 1977 with the help of American Peace Corps and the likes of locals, Andrew Mokoto. Since its formation, softball grew significantly in secondary schools leading up to the formation of local clubs, like bears sofball Club, Dinare, and Vikings softball clubs to name a few.
The Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) was first convened in 1979, with a view to expanding the game so that a national league could be set up, and from that a national team selected to represent Botswana against neighboring countries
BFA is the supreme authority on matters of football in Botswana
